The rooms were tastefully decorated and good-sized, and the bathroom was best with a bathtub. The location was quiet and lovely in a local area, not far from the pub and restaurant. Also, Gelston village cross was 3 km away. Liked food selection, meals were delightful and they have plenty of options.

pleasant stay but minor quirks
The country pub vibes created a cozy atmosphere. Matthew provided really good service, always ready to help us. The breakfast served each morning was superb.
The absence of a chef meant limited dining options.

The relaxed atmosphere at the pub made it easy to unwind. Rachel, who runs the front of house, and we loved the excellent selection of beers!
In my wife's opinion, larger dinner portions would be great for families.

The moment we arrived, we loved how spacious and clean the King Room was. The evening meal we had was absolutely delicious. This place also has a lovely garden where you can relax by the fountain or unwind on the sun loungers. Just a heads up, the noise from the bar above our room was a bit loud, but it didn’t ruin our experience. 😊

Perfect for a Family Getaway
The relaxed atmosphere hits you. Rachel, the front of house, she really stands out, you can tell she cares about making sure everyone has a good time.
Wasn't exactly pocket change but still worth it.

I stayed here for one night and loved how beautifully decorated the room was. Being so close to the Parish Church of Saint Peter made it perfect for a lovely stroll through the area. I can't forget my breakfast, as it was amazing with poached eggs and veggie sides.

The room was comfy and clean, and we loved the local vibe of the pub. The food was amazin and definetly good value for money, both breakfast and dinner were top notch. The location is great for exploring the area, especially if ur into hiking on the viking way.
The room was a bit noisy at night when the pub was busy but quieted down by 10pm. Not much to do in the village apart from the pub, so expect to drive out for other sights.

A Cozy Community Hub with Fantastic Service
The warm atmosphere welcomed us, thanks to the very nice staff who care about their guests. Our King Room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The highlight was definitely the dining experience. Both breakfast and dinner offered delicious homemade options that were a treat for the palate. While the village is charming, it could use a bit more in terms of activities outside of the pub.
